About

I started refinishing antique furniture in my teens working at an auction house. I was bitten by the wood working bug and started crafting and building in my workshop for fun. The hobby has turned into a passion that I want to share with the world.

We make serving boards, wall art, island counter tops, desks and coffee tables.

Please be informed that our products are made using 100% natural wood, and we don’t use any toxic chemicals to treat or protect them. The most “chemical” part of the wood preparing process is the epoxy which is done with Incredible Solutions Epoxy that is food safe once cured. There are very few people who might experience an allergic reaction to woods or epoxy.

We suggest that while you are using our boards or products within the first few weeks, you should monitor your skin. If you begin to experience any discomfort or any kind of itch or rash, please stop using the boards or products immediately and visit your doctor.

Bells WoodCraft disclaims all responsibility for any resulting damages, injuries or expenses related to causes created by using our wooden epoxy boards or products. We do care about our customers and we will try to solve every issue.

Approximately 2% of the general population is allergic to wood dust and the compounds found in wood.— AllergyTreatmentandSymptoms.com

We verified that a very small percentage of people have experienced an allergic reaction due to nut allergies from some woods like Walnut. At this time, Bells WoodCraft hasn’t experienced the result of allergic reactions in any of our wood or epoxy boards, but recommends for anyone who may be sensitive to wood, to be especially careful when choosing those particular products.

The allergic reaction
The symptoms can vary among patients but generally, the allergic reaction to wood resembles contact dermatitis with some redness, swelling, blisters and irritation. In severe allergic reactions, some could experience anaphylaxis. Generally the allergic reaction appears after 24/48 hours of prolonged contact, and in few cases doesn’t disappear when you stop using the product, or may even get worse for a few days after. We recommend that you see an allergist as soon as you notice a rash or irritation.

Consult your Doctor
If you think you are sensitive to wood, consult your doctor or an allergist. Physical evaluation, a medical history, and patch tests will help in finding the cause and rule out other disorders. The treatment will be mainly symptomatic as with other allergies. Antiallergy medications may be prescribed. If the reaction is mostly dermatologic, topical corticosteroids may be given (with prescription). Doctors should be informed that Bells WoodCraft may use titebond III wood glue in cutting boards and epoxy in river boards, but doesn’t treat the wood with any artificial chemicals. Only food safe mineral oil and wax.
